6月30日，米德荣光高中2022-2023学年颁奖典礼暨夏日学院音乐竞演在校举行。让我们随着镜头回顾全程，并跟着大卫·博文校长的致辞来回顾过去这个学年并展望新学年。

On June 30th, the Myddelton College Jinhua 2022-2023 Academic Year Awards Ceremony and Summer School Music Competition were held at the school. Let's take a look back at the entire event through the lens and follow Headmaster David Bowen's speech to review the past academic year and look forward to the new academic year.

2022-2023学年颁奖典礼的奖项由各类学术学科奖项、学校表现奖项、以及活动奖项共同构成，以表彰在校园生活各个方面表现优异、进步显著以及积极进取的各位同学。由各位学科老师、个人导师、生活管理与学院指导老师来共同决定将奖项颁发给相应的同学。

The awards for the 2022-2023 academic year ceremony consist of various academic subject awards, school performance awards, and activity awards, which aim to recognize outstanding performance, significant progress, and proactive attitudes in all aspects of campus life by our students. The recipients of these awards are determined by subject teachers, personal mentors, and residential advisors who collectively decide which students will receive the respective awards.

本次音乐竞演由MCJ音乐总监Aron Rozsa老师监制。以古典音乐开始，穿插流行、爵士，带领着现场观众穿越多姿多彩的音乐世界。MCJ的校园音乐舞台多种多样，同学们都有很多机会来展现自己在音乐领域的学习成果。这一次的音乐竞演不仅是本学年最后一期学院竞赛，也是对2022-2023学年结束的庆典。The house music competition was produced by Aron Rozsa, the Music Director of MCJ. It began with classical music and featured a mix of popular and jazz genres, taking the audience on a journey through a vibrant world of music. The MCJ campus provides a diverse music stage where students have ample opportunities to showcase their achievements in the field of music. This music competition not only marked the final installment of the academic year's inter-house competitions but also served as a celebration to conclude the 2022-2023 academic year.

颁奖典礼也为刚毕业的三位学长学姐颁发了杰出贡献奖，并邀请了准剑桥大学学子Angelo学长为学弟学妹们分享学习与高中生活规划心得。

During the awards ceremony, three recently graduated senior students were honored with the Great Contribution Award. Additionally, the ceremony invited Angelo Russo, the prospective student at the University of Cambridge, to share his insights on learning and planning for high school life with the younger students.

Speech by Headmaster Bowen

如我常言，我非常自豪能够担任米德荣光高中的校长，我以我们的学生为荣也以与诸位老师们共事为傲。本次颁奖典礼是对过去这个学年所取得成就的庆祝，也是最后一期学院竞赛。As I always say, I feel honoured to be the Headmaster of Myddelton College Jinhua, particularly when I see all the students and staff in front of me. This end-of-semester activity is a celebration of some of our achievements mixed in with our final house competition after a very busy year.

这是我们学校的第三个年头。MCJ于2020年8月开办，并经历了疫情时代，我要感谢董事会和家长们对学校的信任，以及在困难时期的坚持和支持。我要感谢教职员工和学生们适应在线课程、缺勤和疾病带来的挑战，确保我们实现了目标，完成了年度课程和考试。我还要感谢杨开睿先生在这段艰难时期持续推动学校的发展。This is our third year as a school. Opening in August 2020, the school was perhaps unlucky to open just as the pandemic hit and I would like to thank the board and parents for having confidence in the school and persevering and supporting us through difficult times. I would like to thank the staff and students for adapting to the challenges of online lessons, absences and illness and ensuring that we attained our objectives, completing the courses and the exams at the end of the year. I would also like to thank Mr.Yang for continuing to drive the school forward in what were difficult times.

而今，我们开始收获大家的支持和努力所取得的丰硕果实。我们终于搬进了定制的校园和教室；我们迎来了MCJ首届毕业生，他们将顺利迈向下一个教育阶段；我们迎来了下一学年更多的新同学。我们是一所不断发展的学校，在学生、教职员工和家长的共同帮助下，在金华市内外建立了良好的声誉。Now we are beginning to reap the rewards of your support and our efforts. We have finally moved into our bespoke campus and classrooms. We have our first-ever graduates, all of whom will be successfully moving to the next stage of their educational journey. We have recruited over 70 students for the new semester. We are a growing school and with the help of students, staff and parents are building a strong reputation within Jinhua and beyond.

展望新学年，我们将面临新的挑战。新的13年级学生将申请大学并完成他们的最后一年学业。他们也将成为我们的高年级学生，成为学校其他学生的榜样。新的11年级和12年级将开始选课，为申请大学奠定基础。随着学校人数的翻倍，学校的氛围无疑也会发生变化。作为米德人，我相信同学们会在应对变化和新环境中激发出独特的问题解决方案，并充分利用这些机会。我也期望每个人都能协助和带领新同学，使我们在不断扩大规模的同时保持我们在米德荣光高中的核心品质和价值观：追求卓越、与人为善、坚韧不拔。Next year there will be new challenges for us all. The new year 13 will be applying for universities and completing their last year of study. They are also stepping up to be our senior students, becoming role models for others in the school. New year 11 and 12 begin their elective courses, which will form the basis of their university applications. The atmosphere of the school will also undoubtedly change as we double in population. Coping with change and new situations presents unique problems and solutions and as Myddeltonians I am confident we will adapt and make the most of these opportunities. I also expect everyone to help and guide the new students so that while increasing in size we retain our core qualities and values at MCJ emphasising Scholarship, Fellowship and Resilience.

下个学期，我们将搬入全新宿舍楼，学校将提供更多种类的课外活动并将重新启动爱丁堡公爵奖计划。我也希望看到更多的同学参与社区服务。MCJ的同学们，假期就要开始了！这是放松和恢复的机会。同时我要提醒大家，研究表明，如果在假期期间不保持复习、学习，各门学科的进展将会退步一个月。请确保完成老师们布置的作业，并按照老师们编制的书单，来阅读拓展相应学科。最重要的是，我敦促大家在假期期间继续练习英语。阅读英语书籍、观看英语电影、或者学习一些英文歌曲，并尽量用英语交流。出色的英语能力会极大地帮助同学们的课堂和未来学习。Next semester, we will move into our new boarding building. We will have a larger range of extra-curricular activities available. We will restart the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme programme. I would also like to see more students involved in completing community service. Obviously, we will also continue to strive for academic excellence in an immersive English environment. Students, the holidays begin tomorrow! It is an opportunity to relax and recover. Research shows that if you do not review your work over the vacation, progress in your subjects falls back by up to a month. Your teachers have issued homework, make sure you do it. Teachers have also completed a booklist if you would like to read more about your subjects. Most importantly, I urge you to continue practising your English over the holiday. Read books in English, watch movies in English, sing in English and try to speak in English. It is the most important subject. The one you all need for your lessons and your future study.   

最后，我要祝贺所有参加今天音乐竞演的同学们。非常高兴看到大家都愿意参与、承担责任并积极参与校园活动。我们将向在过去一年表现出色的同学颁奖。这是米德荣光高中极为成功的一年，很大程度上要归功于各位同学，不断挖掘自己的潜力并取得成功，是你们让学校变得更加强大和优秀。Finally, I would like to congratulate all students taking part in the competition today. It is great to see everyone willing to join in, take responsibility and participate. We will be making awards to the students who have excelled over the year. Congratulations to you all for your hard work. This has been an extremely successful year for MCJ, in large part because of you the students. Nurturing and sharing in your strengths and successes has made the school stronger and better.
